Your Eye Doctor In Denver

Hampden Youth Vision is a full-service pediatric optometry practice. We provide comprehensive eye care for children and teens.  Services include routine eye exams, contact lens fittings, and the treatment and management of eye diseases.

We can help with issues like:

  • Myopia: Also known as nearsightedness, myopia occurs when light focuses in front of the retina instead of on it. This usually happens because the eyeball is too long.
  • Hyperopia: Also called farsightedness, hyperopia occurs when light focuses behind the retina instead of directly on it. This usually happens when the eyeball is too short.
  • Astigmatism: This is a type of refractive error in which the eye does not focus light evenly on the retina, resulting in blurred vision.
  • Amblyopia: Also called lazy eye, amblyopia occurs when the brain favors one eye over the other, resulting in reduced vision in the non-favored eye.
  • Eye Infections: Children are especially susceptible to eye infections because their immune systems are still developing. These can include pink eye, styes, and more.

Your child should come in for their first eye exam at 6 months old. Early detection and treatment of eye and vision problems are important for your child’s development. If you have any concerns about your child’s vision and are looking for an eye doctor Denver, eye doctor Greenwood Village, or eye doctor Englewood, CO, please do not hesitate to call us or schedule an appointment online.

We also carry the amazing Dilli Dalli frames, specifically designed for infants and toddlers.

Contact Lenses for Kids

More and more kids are choosing contact lenses instead of glasses, and we are here to help. Does Colorado Medicaid Cover Vision?

Yes, the Early Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) Program benefits include eyeglasses, glasses frame and lens replacement/repair, contact lenses (if medically necessary), ocular prosthetics, and eye exams for children under the age of 20. We understand that eye care and glasses can be expensive, so we offer various payment options and will be glad to discuss what’s best for your family.
